The Magical (Multi-MX-Distro-Install) Mystery Tour

:band:
[Sung to the tune of the Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour"]

Roll Up....
Roll Up...for the Mystery Tour
Roll Up....
Roll Up...for the Mystery Tour....

The Magical Mystery Tour is going to take you away...
Going to take you away...
Going to take you away...

[Refrain]
Roll Up...
Roll Up...for the Mystery Tour
Roll Up....
Roll Up...for the Mystery Tour....

I have wanted to post these instructions for some time, but with the 'imminent' release of MX-25, the time to do so IS NOW !!!

Important Note:
This guide IS NOT for those who want a classic "Dual Boot", i.e., Linux and Windows distros installed on the same machine. For that, see the comprehensive guide by @FullScale4Me : https://fullscale4me.com/Dual-Boot-MX-L ... -Guide.pdf

Another Important Note:
This guide is for UEFI systems only !!!

I have compiled these instructions from a long thread, where @fehlix detailed the procedures to: install multiple MX distros, customize the GRUB menu for each distro, and install an MXPI-available "app" to manage all of the separate distros at machine-boot-time.

I have reviewed this "guide" recently, and used it to set-up my new "testing" rig, which now has 5 MX Distros installed, and where each can be chosen at boot time, using "rEFInd" (see the guide).

So, the guide should be up-to-date, and error free; however, please let me know if you found any errors (even typos), and I will correct them!

Here is the link to the MX-Forum thread, which is also included in the "Guide" itself (see below), where @fehlix guided me through the process of installing and configuring multiple MX Distros:
viewtopic.php?p=668187#p668187

And, finally, here is the Guide, itself, both in .txt and .odt formats:

The second [and beyond] installation of a Linux doesn't require a Grub installation. Uncheck "Install GRUB for Linux and Windows" in the MX Installer.

You would take away the ability to add boot options without having installed grub. Without grub, you would not generated a efi-grub.loader
to booi into this install from uefi menu. And last not least if the first grub dies, you took away multi-efigrub loader capabilities UEFI offers.

TY felix for clearing up an assumption on my part. So, the mystery [on my part] of why that checkbox exists continues.

A user may prefer other Boot methods, like systemd-boot (gummi-boot), or just completely use only UEFI, either through "MX UEFI Manager" offered generation of EFI-boot entries,
or just rEFIind as a replacement for GRUB boot loader.
