What kind of mouse / keyboard are you using? usb or wireless?davev8 wrote: Mon Jul 28, 2025 10:13 am No only 1 monitor on this PC...the 2 monitors was part of my ramblings when i went from Mint 9 with the cube desktop to windows to make up for losing the cube
UPDATE
after trying one or 2 things to no avail i switch off the screensaver and the lock screan thinking that has to cure it , but no just got home have black screan with a working pointer ..i check the screensaver and lock screan and are still off...anybody else with this problem i have no problem of you joining this thread
EDIT
one of the things i think i did was to switch of power management but i did not ..its off now so will see what happens
If you have a wireless, then please test using a usb version.
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.

Re: new MX install wont wake up from sleep
Another Trick by your suggest indicating Sleep not from screen-saved , U did not indicating this is hard Hibernate and or Suspend features.
in Power Manager myself having 3 of 4 successful returns, and now I have installed the nVidia current driver set same results. There was a suggest to man tlp.conf
down around line 390 there is a rem'd out group of statements to add to DENYLIST=0c45:5004 as example can find this via lsusb like this
not a 100 percent reading the man pages on tlp.conf can help the entry DENYLIST will be rem'd out so remove the octothorp add what you find all hopes this 1st line of my code works for you replacing your own Keyboard code the similar.
take it from there. Last pop to sugg
I turn off all my system timers to "Never" when I'm offline or off to bed and expect away from my computer.
I tap the "Suspend Button" and walk away come back to a flashing power lite "A-sleep condition and tap Control-Alt-T (which opens a terminal - I have an emergenci script I can run and reboot when tapping any keyboard key fails. )
worth a try.
Trick the Logout button is only showing usually on left of screen - Right click drop down allows to check off few more like Shutdwn Reboot and Suspend.
this will in xfce add these buttons adjacent for your pleasure. speed trik. its simply easier. cheers

sudo lsusb |grep -i "Keyboard"|awk '{print $6}'
outputs the address usually in hex what the USB hub sees as keyboard detected at such address.
see /etc/tlp.conf

Re: new MX install wont wake up from sleep
My Power Manager settings are:
General: all set to Hybrid Sleep
System: Hybrid Sleep when inactive for 15 mins
Display: Display Power Management Off
Screensaver: Off
This allows me or the timer to Suspend, then wake with a key press even after many hours.

I know to a greater possibility my own "inner Hardening" has possibly broken the odd multi file ties for such to be as accurate and truly as designed responsive as your system is. Hats off to your success!
