At this point you need to give us the QSI for the ZBook.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Sorry, not sure what QSI means and any meanings I found online did (erm Quantum Statistical Inference...? ) but if you mean system information then here is a summary:

Code: Select all

$ inxi
CPU: 8-core Intel Core i9-9880H (-MT MCP-) speed/min/max: 900/800/4800 MHz

$ inxi -G

  MX Linux 23.6 - Debian GNU/Linux 12.11 (bookworm)
However, I solved the problem by buying the same Dell dock as I have from work and that I know works, off eBay. Cost 45GBP and I will probably sell the HP one to re-coup some of the cost. It arrived yesterday and does indeed work as expected. No more tearing my hair out with xrandr.

Ok, noted for future reference in the forum rules. Thank you.
Found the option in the MX Tools menu. Nice idea.

Probably should also add that I updated the firmware on the HP dock to the latest version but this made no difference.
