Brightness keys quit working after laptop is on for hours.  [Solved]

Help for Current Versions of MX
When asking for help, use Quick System Info from MX Tools. It will be properly formatted using the following steps.
1. Click on Quick System Info in MX Tools
2. Right click in your post and paste.

I don't believe MX Linux offers a MATE option. So either this thread is about a respin or it's just someone hacking around. Probably doesn't belong in the "Actively Developed and Supported" section of the forums, because it's not.
MX Package has Mate in it to install

And is this a respin that you have loaded?
Didn't have to use a live usb; just logged out and in to xfce and lo and behold keyboard brightness works. I just prefer Mate. At least I know that the problem is Mate oriented. Thanks for the suggestion.

Take a look at the link I posted in #4. It might solve the problem with MATE.
