MX Package has Mate in it to installDukeComposed wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 11:32 pmI don't believe MX Linux offers a MATE option. So either this thread is about a respin or it's just someone hacking around. Probably doesn't belong in the "Actively Developed and Supported" section of the forums, because it's not.siamhie wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 11:22 pm I don't use or are familiar with MATE but take a look at this thread.

Didn't have to use a live usb; just logged out and in to xfce and lo and behold keyboard brightness works. I just prefer Mate. At least I know that the problem is Mate oriented. Thanks for the suggestion.CharlesV wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 12:20 am @AllanP Lets try a regular xfce Live USB and see if this is still an issue.
And is this a respin that you have loaded?

Take a look at the link I posted in #4. It might solve the problem with MATE.AllanP wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 12:28 pm just logged out and in to xfce and lo and behold keyboard brightness works. I just prefer Mate.
This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.
