Firefox will play most video formats and is preinstalled.
In the MX Package Installer, the Popular Applications expand Video. Both mplayer and SMplayer are good. VLC is there, also well-regarded.
The name 'Software Center' is an antiX feature. Are you on MX Linux or antiX?
