gmic on gimp3 on MX 23 [Solved]

Has anyone been able to get Gmic to work on gimp3? The "Debian 13 Trixie" from gmic download won't work for me and I have not tried the Ubuntu one. I hear complying my own might work?

The flatpak gmic works with the flatpak gimp 3.0.4

Yeah, not recommended to use Trixie packages on MX 23!

It's basically the same 2.9.4 version that's been in Debian since Bullseye, but gimp-gmic is removed because it does not work with gimp 3.
