Can we get FreeCAD 1.0.1 the MX Package Installer?
FreeCAD is up to version 1.0.1 with 1.1 on the way. MXPI offers v0.20.2 within Enabled Repos and a v1.0.0 Flatpak.
The Flatpak install of v1.0.0 appears to be working for me but I have vague recollections of grumblings here about using Flatpaks. Meanwhile v1.0.1 is available for download as an AppImage. Is there any reason for not using this? Or should I go instead the FreeCAD GitHub repository and build this from the source code?
Request: FreeCAD 1.0.1
Re: Request: FreeCAD 1.0.1
It's pretty tough to rebuild from raw source--have you done anything like it before? It will need a backport of opencascade first as a build-depend, at the minimum, and that's tricky because the libt64 transition from upstream Debian has to be reverted in the sources first.
There's nothing wrong with using an Appimage. They usually take much less disk space than a flatpak.

MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing
