Please post your QSI. ( MX Menu, Quick System Info, Copy for Forum, Paste here )

From a QSI in your post history viewtopic.php?p=818023#p818023, it looks like you're using Intel Wireless 7265 (iwlwifi) for your wifi.
If that's still the case you can remove the rtl8821cu dkms stuff.
An easy way to do that, use:

I previouly did this....should I remove unused kernels ?? (keeping current kernel and newest previous kernel)

If they aren't being used, go ahead and remove them.AA BB wrote: Mon May 19, 2025 3:07 pm " ...An easy way to do that, use: MX Tools > MX Cleanup > Tools (tab) > 'Remove unused Wifi drivers' (button) "

I wouldn't call building those drivers a "hang"; it's more that it takes a loooooong time.

I'd amend that to the current kernel and the one that previously worked.AA BB wrote: Mon May 19, 2025 3:07 pm " ...An easy way to do that, use: MX Tools > MX Cleanup > Tools (tab) > 'Remove unused Wifi drivers' (button) "

HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;
In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Re: while upgrading dkms.mx build hangs up with -m rtl8821cu
The operation to remove unused wi-fi drivers should have removed all those dkms drivers, not leave rtl8821cu-dkms behind. Something is off here---what does it list if you try it again?
