Manager Accounting Package

#1 Post by Seagasm »

Good morning, I have not used the Manager Accounting program for a little while however, since I removed the Nvidia Drivers I now get a blank screen. The M shows in the far left corner where I can access a short pull down menu but other than that, I cannot do anything else. I have the latest download of the Linux AppImage and I operate MXLinux as my OS distribution. I have Win10 VM with Manager installed and that works although a bit sluggish. I suspect this to be a Display Driver Problem but I am not sure where to start to look. Any assistance would be appreciated, thank you.

Virtual Box has a video memory trick that may not have used. With the VM selected but not running scroll down to the Display section and right-click on the displayed amount of memory. A slider will let you double it to 256 Mb. Turn off 3d-accelleration too.

On the host when the VM is running close down un-needed apps to free up memory. Bump up memory to the VM.

Under Storage, ensure both: 1) Controller - 'Use Host I/O Cache' is checked. (if on a solid state drive) 2) Select the virtual drive and check the 'Solid-state Drive' check-box.

I've seen a few VMs perform better with 2 CPUs compared to one.

Thank you for your tips with the VM however, I only loaded the package into the VM to see if it worked, and it did. As above, I had the accounting package AppImage working under MXLinux when I had the Nvidia drivers installed. I will go back and reinstall the Nvidia drivers and see if that effects another program I was having problems, stand by.......

Well I ended up installing the NVidia drivers to get this package to work, Don't know what the problem was.

A trick if a Linux application isn't working is to start it from the terminal--in this case, you should be able to drag and drop the AppImage file into the terminal to see if any errors come up. If it has any GL video effects, it might require the Nvidia drivers, though.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing
