I bought that laptop in Russia (September 2021).
After installing MX-Linux, I got that problem.

Are you dual booting with Windows 10 or 11? If the answer is yes, have you turned off Fast Boot?
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Since your laptop's purchase date predates Win 11's release by about a month, it likely shipped with Win 10. Look in your bios for a control called Quick Start and if it's enabled, disable it.

I disabled Fast Boot in BIOS.
I hope it will help.
Many thanks!

Could you try with an external keyboard?

I may say now that if Fast Boot (in BIOS) is disabled then everything is OK! :)
But if Fast Boot is enabled, I have to reboot the laptop and then to type the password.

I guess the main problem is the BIOS of my laptop... :(
