Dolphin split - vertical? (rather than horizontal)

#1 Post by bambuko »

At the moment horizontal split of Dolphin window is one click job, but vertical split don't seem to be possible?
or... am I missing something?
I can do it (kind of) manually but it would be nice (if possible) to have a choice when splitting...

Re: Dolphin split - vertical? (rather than horizontal)

#2 Post by CharlesV »

In reading the bug reports, it appears a few people requested this, but it does not appear it was ever done. (Possibly at one point a few years back it was tried.)

Most of the posts I found discussed using Konqeror - which does split either direction.

Thank you!
had a quick look at MXPI but no sign of it... so installed using

Code: Select all

sudo apt install konqueror
will have a look at it (I assume I can run both in parallel? until I am ready to ditch one of them... :p )

Your very welcome. And yes, it will run side by side.

Thank you for a suggestion,
will investigate it as well
does it do split window top/bottom? - which was my reason for this thread....
...Krusader is a “twin-panel” file manager so there are two panels: the “Left” panel and the “Right” panel...

Thank you!
possibly...
but it is Xfce and I use KDE - and for a simple user like me this might be a wee bit too complicated?
MXTweak has no such option (at least in my KDE version?)
I will try to stick to KISS for now n
