?setting up wake from keyboard Dell755

#1 Post by jonnken »

Wanting help setting up wake from keyboard on Dell Optiplex 755. I haven't found anything in BIOS that clearly facilitates this, or anything in MX tools. I suppose this is more easily done on some computers than others?
thanks, jonnken

You shouldn't have to set it up as it should be in play by default. Before you dig into MX's configurations, I think that you should try different keyboards.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

I tried another keyboard, but no change to non-wake from keyboard. I think some MX systems ago, this computer would wake from keyboard, not sure what changed? Not sure if my installed version is AHS, and if that might knock out my wake from keyboard feature from this older computer? I've done some kernel swapping out in the last year that helped my computer's efficiencies, not sure if that might have done it?

My power button is starting to act a bit wonky, so it'd be nice to have "wake from keyboard" back.

Decided to switch out to a newer Dell 7020 Optiplex computer, that I had sitting around in waiting. And wake-from-keyboard is working as it normally should. My Dell 755 gave about ten years as my main daily driver, now a backup system setting on the self. Today those Dell 7020's can be had for around fifty US dollars, quite a bargain.
