Thanks for the generous post.

I used the traditional FB toolbar a lot during the earlier part of MX-25 Fluxbox version development when much was not yet available, and it got me thinking that we might want our own unique toolbar config for the new version. Would you be interested in starting a thread on the topic and overseeing its development? I myself would look for application menu logout etc. buttons at the very least, FWIW.
Production: 5.10, MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: Lenovo X1 Carbon with MX-23 Fluxbox
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

I created a button to launch appfinder. Pretty simple to setup in the init file.

Code: Select all

session.screen0.toolbar.button.homenu.label:	_flux23_
session.screen0.toolbar.button.homenu.commands:	exec xfce4-appfinder
session.screen0.toolbar.tools:	button.homenu, prevworkspace, workspacename, nextworkspace, iconbar, systemtray

I did that too, but the question here is rather about the group's creating an MXFB toolbar config that goes through a standard review process before becoming default for MX-25.

OK, I'll wait for the thread on this to add input.

Don't want to burst anybody's bubble, but it seems that only fluxbox1.3.7+git20220731 (as installed currently running in MX-23) was patched to allow toolbar-button entries which are capable to execute left|right|middle|mousewheel action commands. The fluxbox version 1.3.7-1+b1 in trixie (and as such in MX-25) does NOT add such actions and capabilities....
Perhaps MXFB devs could consider to continue offering the patched fluxbox-1.3.7+git20220731 version in MX-25 ??

@ceeslans That's very strange of Debian to not include the button patch Mathias submitted back in 2016. https://github.com/fluxbox/fluxbox/comm ... 51b7ff6a03

@i_ri The "+git20220731" reference is all the patches applied up to July 2022 since the final release of 1.3.7 in 2015.
For some reason, I can't get the git page to load anymore, https://git.fluxbox.org/fluxbox.git/, which is where I was keeping track of new developments.
