Purely memory (or lack thereof), but IIRC, the free Zoho email account does not include IMAP, yes:
*IMAP/ POP/ Active Sync are not included in the free plan.
https://www.zoho.com/mail/zohomail-pric ... c=mpd-menu

If they are using the free plan.

Perhaps also fix the topic heading to more directly address the issue. I'm sure installing the thunderbird package itself is not the problem.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing

Wrong. I have been using the free plan for years, both IMAP & POP.

Thunderbird 128.6.0esr (64-bit)
Account Settings
Server Settings
Server Type: IMAP MAIL Server
Server Name: imap.zoho.com Port: 993 Default: 993
User Name: name@zoho.com example

Connection security: SSL/TLS

I change to Imap because the way they do spam folder.

Do you think you still have access to IMAP because it is grandfathered in, or do you think their website is incorrect in stating, "*IMAP/ POP/ Active Sync are not included in the free plan."?

If the later, I may try it.

Also, does the free plan have any aliases, other than domain aliases?
I don't think it does.

I've been looking at a lot of email over the last year.

Thanks for making me aware of this, I may try it.

Do not know. I can tell you that I start with pop, it has been maybe 2 years since I have used pop. I switch from pop because sometimes one of my normal emails would be put into their spam folder, so change to imap. Better than login and telling not spam.

You can try, smtp is smtp.zoho.com 465. Also used your browser and login and go thru all zoho settings.

@MXRobo I signed up two people at zoho (free accounts) in the last three months and set them up with imap.
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

CharlesV - Thanks for the info, I almost certainly will try the free Zoho email account.
do you have any opinion on their privacy? It's been a while since I initially looked at zoho, and I don't think it was 'super' private, but IIRC, it was 'OK'.

@towwire Thanks for replying, and assuming that I'll use it, I'll use it with IMAP on an email client - currently TB.

Cheers All!
