Bluetooth pairing code notification not popping up

#1 Post by reidun »

I'm having trouble pairing any devices with my Dell AIO desktop computer running MX23. The pairing notification with the code shows up on the phone or tablet, but not on the computer, so I can't click "Connect." I tried looking in the Notification settings on the computer, and Bluetooth manager is not muted. I also tried searching the internet for this problem, but coming up empty handed. Per instructions for a different bluetooth problem I reinstalled the "bluez" packages showing in Synaptic, and then restarted the computer, but still no go.

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

By the way, I have two MX machines doing this. This one is a Dell AIO with the above System Info, and the other is a Dell laptop.

You might try loading up a liquorix kernel and see how if your still having this issue. Many people find the liquorix kernels help resolve issues. I would suggest a 6.5.x or 6.6.x as a good starting point. Easy to load and test and easy to roll back if you want.

Thanks for the suggestion. I installed 6.6 from the package manager, and restarted, but still no notifications are showing up, so I can't pair anything. Only trying on the Dell AIO with the QSI above, will fix the laptop when I get a solution that works on this machine.

What else to try? Thanks!

I'd try replacing the wifi card. Here's a video from Dell that shows you how:
https://www.dell.com/support/contents/e ... 9772040001
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.
