Currently MX Package Installer has version 4.6.5 with the web download of 5.12.1 just binaries, no readme. Telegram Desktop
Yes, I see there is a Flatpack, but it is 5.7.2, which I would rather not run.
I upgraded my PC by renaming the existing binary, copying the new version into /usr/bin, and then renaming it as the previous one had been named (telegram-desktop).
TIA, no rush for me obviously, but the upgrade task for others may be a barrier.

Re: Package request for Telegram Client version 5.12.1
+1
I don't have a clue about packaging, and thank you who do!!! But, some version weirdness???
My Win10 VM shows it's using version 5.13.1 x64
^ no indication of beta either
https://desktop.telegram.org/changelog
shows latest (non beta) as 5.12 released 07.03.25
https://github.com/telegramdesktop/tdes ... ngelog.txt
shows 5.13.1 (26.03.25)
And, yeah, MX23 has 4.6.5.
@FullScale4Me, based on the above (github source) edit this request to 5.13.1?
Best,
Michael
