pci.ids backport from sid or trixie

#1 Post by kmathern »

In the MX Moksha "Out of Bodhi" thread I mentioned running 'update-pciids' to update the PCI ID list. My main reason for that was because the two year old list (/usr/share/misc/pci.ids) that MX23/bookworm comes with doesn't include any information for my wifi device (Intel CNVi: Wi-F 8086:54f0). Other users might also have pci hardware not listed in the older list that's now included in the updated list.

I wonder if backporting the sid or trixie pci.ids package and adding it to the MX repos might be a better approach than running 'update-pciids'.

I think that's a good fit for the ahs repo. Since there's no code, just updated info, it shouldn't be able to break anything.
Will add it.
