I would suggest installing the 6.9.x liquiorix kernel as a test. That kernel has significant mods for sound and cameras in HP's.

MX Package Installer, search for liquorix. And 6.9.12 should in the list.

Actually, given that his cpu is eleven years old:
https://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Atom/Int ... e_vignette
the earlier AntiX 4.19 kernel might be a better fit
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

True, but with nothing showing for audio controller.. something is amiss there.

K, I will do some research on that unit and see what I can find. (It will be a late today though.) It is curious to me that NO sound controller or network controller is shown in that QSI.

Cool.. then in a Manjaro terminal please do:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxxxrza

and then post here inside code tags. This should tell us what driver we are not loading.
