Saving Session Settings via Power Button

#1 Post by cancunia »

I've just installed MX on a different device (MacBook Air 2013), everything seems OK but the tick box to save the session settings on the menu you get when pressing the power button is missing. I've been so used to it being there that I've forgotten how to set it up.

OK, I found the settings under 'Session & Startup' but the prompt does not appear on the shutdown / reboot menu although the box is ticked in the logout settings. After checking a couple of times, the applications that I had open are restarting, just no prompt on the shutdown / reboot / logout menu when I press the power button.

According to the Help online. If I untick the Automatically Save Session, I should get asked if I want to save the session when I shutdown / logout via the power button, but that does not happen.

Try - Session and Startup → Saved Session – Clear Saved Session.

That option was removed as a default in the latest version of Xfce.

IMO that's a good thing, as it often causes confusion for new users.

Rhetorically:
Are there still any other options in that tab, like maybe Remove, or the ability to select a Default option.
Could removing the Session and Startup configs?
