They are now in Sid, so I'll try them in the next day or two, barring any disasters.AVLinux wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 4:14 pm

Many thanks to @Stevo and hopefully at some point the very latest Enlightenment 0.27 will enter Sid and backport here
Enlightenment 0.27 + EFL 1.28 Backports? [Solved]

MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing

I've got efl built, and then the new enlightenment builds successfully against that, so things look good--I just have to get the new terminology, rage, and ephoto rebuilt against those.

You sir, are amazing!!
I will watch and wait for the whole enchilada to arrive and run a few tests, hopefully it's as smooth as 0.26 was once the duckies are in a row.

e17, efl, and the new terminology rebuilds are done and installed, but I'm finishing up in KDE. I will say terminology looks and run really nicely in KDE, though!
Do you much about multi-monitor support on Enlightenment? I use a large external display on my laptop, with the lappy's screen disabled and off if in the corner at an angle, so when I log into Enlightenment, I have to use the laptop screen. and get a crick in my neck. I'm sure it's just some setting.

Menu-->Settings-->Screen Setup will give you a utility for that.. I'll be honest I haven't really used it much and like a lot of E stuff it makes sense (once you understand E's quirky logic but may not be immediately intuitive). I have a dual-head setup in the Studio but it's from a Desktop and the monitors are the same size and with them plugged into the ports in order they 'just work'. Some folks prefer installing and using arandr for it's familiarity..Stevo wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 11:57 am e17, efl, and the new terminology rebuilds are done and installed, but I'm finishing up in KDE. +1 for terminology, it does a lot of fun stuff!

Re: Enlightenment 0.27 + EFL 1.28 Backports?
Hmmm--I installed connman-gtk in MX-KDE so Enlightenment could use it, and I immediately lost my KDE networking, as well as my bluetooth mouse and earpods. Even switching the mouse to a 2.4 GHz wireless dongle it comes with didn't work.
I managed to bring up a terminal, like a caveman, uninstall it, log out and back in, and things were working. Go figure, maybe it's just this Dell. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Uploading the new packages to Gdrive now.

Hmmm, well I installed KDE with E for a few months to try it and they make strange bedfellows for sure. Just so you know there is QT Connman frontend called CMST, perhap it being QT would be better tolerated? I will tell you KDE likes to be the boss and doesn't remove very cleanly.. But I would think scrubbing E off a KDE sytem wouldn't be difficult..Stevo wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 12:45 pm Hmmm--I installed connman-gtk in MX-KDE so Enlightenment could use it, and I immediately lost my KDE networking, as well as my bluetooth mouse and earpods. Well, yes, I just install enlightenment in a terminal, and then uninstall and autoremove everything that brought in. Easy-peasy.AVLinux wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 12:48 pmHmmm, well I installed KDE with E for a few months to try it and they make strange bedfellows for sure. Is E Wayland aware yet, which means able to run under Wayland?
