suspend mode active after update and toggle it on/off again fails to deativate

#1 Post by clampett »

I saw the other thread with the same issue, but the solution failed. After rebooting, 10 min & 8 sec my screen goes blank again.
I disabled the autostart of the XFCE power manager. Rebooted. 10 min & 30 sec, screen powered off again. Monitor just says lost signal.
I'm using the system now but will try to activate the screen saver and change the time to maybe 180 minutes. Still experimenting unless someone can tell me what I'm missing.

Thank you........

You might try moving this file to a backup folder, then reset your power manager settings and test it

Code: Select all

mv ~\.config\xfce4\xfconf\xfce-perchannel-xml\xfce4-power-manager.xml ~/backup

I tried. No luck. Rebooted with Power manager disabled. Screen went off. Retried with Power Manager enabled..
The new file has several lines missing that the old file (xfce4-power-manager.xml) had. I'll keep the new file, at least until I get resolved and know if it is part of the problem.

Thank you for you input.....

ya, something is odd right here. I have had several people now say that it fixed them by resetting the times. (My self included ) .

Also.. seems to work when you set a different time. Say 5 minutes and things time out then. On mine, I set it to 2 min which worked perfectly, then I set to 90 min, also worked perfectly and then I set to never - and it all worked.

I read where others that had your MOBO had same results as you.

voila, I installed Xscreensaver, then had it change MODE to Disable Screen Saver. Tested for 15 minutes and screen remained on........
