To be serious again, doesn't xfce have a colour profile settings thingamajig? Maybe try fiddling with that?

OK,
After weeks of fiddling around and testing ISO's the inverted QT colors only appear in VM's on this computer. Tests on a Thinkpad and another older Desktop show no weird color issues so it is some bizarro combo of my current flaky nVidia Video driver and Gnome Boxes so nothing to do with XFCE4 or LXQT...
