here is my rfkill screen results, both a Dell bluetooth and a hci0 listing. No Broadcom device, that is an issue mentioned.
bluez files are installed, bluetooth icon says "bluetooth enabled"

Code: Select all

Re: bluetooth issues, KDE vs. XFCE

Please don't post screenshots of code output, they cannot be searched. You can post code on the forum like this:

Thanks.

Verify in MX Package Installer that you have the following installed (personally, I would reinstall them.)

Code: Select all

blueman
bluetooth
bluez
bluez-cups
bluez-firmware
bluez-tools
python3-bluez
python3-gatlib

there are a few other lib files too, but I believe if you reinstall the above it will reinstall them too.

Once your reinstalled, then restart your machine and start the bluetooth manager and look around. It should show lbluetooth devices.

I reinstalled all of these, plus one named bluez-obexd; and restarted. And search in Bluetooth Manager still comes up empty.

I've got it. It was a matter of clicking the Bluetooth button on my speaker device a second time, to put it into pairing mode. One has to distinguish between slow and fast blinks to see this.
The Sony srs-xb100 is a pretty good bluetooth speaker at a great price.
thanks,
