@CharlesV
SOLUTION per CharlesV mostly.
I removed Brave Browser using MXPI and of what you suggested, these were the only ones existing:
sudo rm -rf /home/rmxz/.config/BraveSoftware/
sudo rm -rf /home/rmxz/.config/brave
I thought I might have to use purge or something.
I also deleted 1 day old cache and all logs using MX-Cleanup.
Brave was getting very buggy lately, closing when attempting to do simple things that might do something "outside" of said website.
Reinstalled with MXPI and haven't added nearly as many extensions as before - including uBlock-Origin yet - as I found, or am more familiar with Brave Shields now. And I dumped LastPass for Bitwarden, not sure if I'll use the flatpak desktop app or the browser extension, maybe both.
Not one problems so far.
Thanks CharlesV.
Cheers!

Re: Brave Browser Wont Open
I have completely removed Brave because it caused me to lose capabilities and data which I wanted to keep.
I will never use Brave again, but alas the damage is done!
I believe Brave is based on Chrome which may be the reason for its misbehaviour.
AVOID BRAVE-BROWSER!

Many people use Brave browser without incident. This, like so many other things, comes down to "your mileage may very".

True, Charles, but many people get away with many foolish things......CharlesV wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 12:33 pm Many people use Brave browser without incident. This, like so many other things, comes down to "your mileage may very".
What essential advantage over other browsers does Brave offer?

Re: Brave Browser Wont Open
It's a chromium based browser, the base from which Google builds Chrome, so you might want to avoid that as you might like the advantages.

So, mainly... Brave (ie the chromium engine) renders differently, and in addition it has features that will not work in FireFox. (Or any other browser. )GuiGuy wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 12:44 pmTrue, Charles, but many people get away with many foolish things......CharlesV wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 12:33 pm Many people use Brave browser without incident. There are several websites that will not render properly unless a 'chrome' engine is used. Brave works.
Second, I have many clients that have given the boot to Microsoft Office. Most of these people use LibreOffice. However, there are a number of these people that use Google Docs. (Yes, I know.) And these people use Brave because it provides features that FF just wont.
Lastly, while I use FF in 99% of my use, brave fulfills two important things for me:
1) I can vew my camera system AND have the functionality that is built into the cameras. ( Pan, zoom, tilt etc - non of which will work in FF)
2) I have four support locations that I frequent for myself and clients that I cannot get Chat to work unless it is in Brave.
I am sure there are far more than these too. And Brave does offer a certain level of privacy built in too.

Thanks for that informative post, CharlesV,
I see that Brave can be useful to some people.
