Bluetooth connection not working  [Solved]

#1 Post by linuxforever »

Hi, thanks for your precious help. I just installed the latest MX version from the site. When trying to connect my Bluetooth headphone, after activating Bluetooth after being prompted to do so, I notice that the program flashes quickly, while trying to start, but then disappears. I use Blueman.
After doing systemctl start bluetooth.service, systemctl status bluetooth.service returns this:
bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; enabled; preset: enabled)
Active: active (running) since Tue 2024-12-17 08:50:15 CET; 6min ago
Docs: man:bluetoothd(8)
Main PID: 2268 (bluetoothd)
Status: "Running"
Tasks: 1 (limit: 18892)
Memory: 2.2M
CPU: 56ms
CGroup: /system.slice/bluetooth.service
└─2268 /usr/libexec/bluetooth/bluetoothd

Bluetooth seems to be enabled, but I still cannot connect. What am I missing, please ...?

Ok, the service is enabled but are you sure you have such a device?

Well, I guess so, because it worked in the past.
How can I check its actual presence, please?
Thanks.

Err maybe

Code: Select all

rfkill
lists it (though I think it won't)..

Or if you have Windows, too you can boot with and compare...

Or user's manual from web ...

According to this review from 2013. it does not:
https://www.google.com/search?q=Packard ... e&ie=UTF-8
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Like the Acer, the Packard Bell does not feature Bluetooth.
(Though yours is V1.07 and we don't know yet whether all versions were the same)

Also this shows Bluetooth as 0 (though it's in Italian)

Right - I used a dongle. And forgot about it.
