Re: avidemux segfault crashing
When the tools you need to fix your segfaulting problems start segfaulting, it's time for a reinstall and a thorough after-action report of where you went wrong. It may have been a wacky config change, or a file system error, or a hard disk failure. Or something else entirely. Definitely sounds like a core library or something similarly important is gone.

And this does what exactly?Kermit the Frog wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 9:11 pm
- Ctrl+Alt+T
Reboot.
Code: Select all
mkdir Liquorix ; cd Liquorix ; wget https://liquorix.net/debian/pool/main/l/linux-liquorix/linux-headers-6.11.10-1-liquorix-amd64_6.11-15.1~bookworm_amd64.deb https://liquorix.net/debian/pool/main/l/linux-liquorix/linux-image-6.11.10-1-liquorix-amd64_6.11-15.1~bookworm_amd64.deb ; sudo apt install ./*.deb ; sudo update-grub ; cd .. ; rm -rf Liquorix ; echo 'blacklist ntfs3' | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-ntfs3.conf
You know that just posting commands without explanations is a nono.

Re: avidemux segfault crashing
It doesn't appear that I have LiquorixMXRobo wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 7:33 pm Kermit said MXPI, not Synaptic.
Open the whisker menu and type MXPI for MX Package Installer.
Also, don't use the Quick search in Synaptic, instead open Synaptic, and press "Ctrl+F" you'll find them this way.
Always (at least I think/do) use "Ctrl +F"
Good Luck

I just saw this response, thanks that is starting to be my conclusion, also.DukeComposed wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2024 12:03 amWhen the tools you need to fix your segfaulting problems start segfaulting, it's time for a reinstall and a thorough after-action report of where you went wrong. @linuxuzer
I was going to edit my comment, but then I saw that I may have not understood what was happening as I don't know linux or what seqfaulting is; plus per AV's comment which kind of implies that post #6 is moot and that you were aware that MXPI was seqfaulting – apparently not.
Anyway, my edit would have been:
At one time, I believe that the AHS repo had to be enabled to show/install the liquorix kernel, but I thought I may have seen something on the forum (since maybe July) where that repo wasn't required for liquorix (or specific liquorix) kernels. Not sure as I wasn't following the forum very closely for some time.
But to reiterate, in MX-21.3 Xfce, the liquorix kernels are not show if I use the quick search in Synaptic Package Manager but are shown if I use "Ctrl +F".
To my surprise, the liquorix kernel is now found with the quick search. I must have misspelled it previously.
Anyway, an old easylinuxtipsproject site said the the quick search would not always find items.
They are also show if I "Open the whisker menu and type MXPI for MX Package Installer".
I do however, have the AHS repo permanently enabled.
Good Luck!
