[PARTLY SOLVED, with more to come]again having trouble with bluetooth

#1 Post by humphra »

hi
i am sorry to come and ask for something that might seems trivial : after installing the KXstudio metapackages over my mx23.3 i am again unable to use bt

when starting connection from the bt aplet (kde) i got an error message saying connexion is not working (échec de la connexion au périphérique)
furthermore when going to the system control bluetooth an attempt to connect gives "br-connection-profile-unavailable"

here is my quick system info :

i think installing kxstudio was probably changing something but as far as for now i do not find out what's going on, i've tried reinstalling pipewire with no success

thanks for your feedback

PipeWire v: 1.0.0 status: off with: 1: pipewire-pulse status: off 2: wireplumber status: off

For a full reset:

Code: Select all

pkill pipewire ; pkill pipewire-pulse ; pkill wireplumber ; pipewire-start
or just:

Code: Select all

pipewire-start

Hi thanks for this quick answer

i tried before to ask here to do a "pipewire start/stop" wich gave me a lot of errors and no success, i suppose the installation of kxstudio metapackages leaded to the situation...

i installed as root the pipeware-setup-mx package that was strangely missing and then back as regular user killed and restarted pipewire as you suggested
# apt install pipewire-setup-mx

~pkill pipewire ; pkill pipewire-pulse ; pkill wireplumber ; pipewire-start
everything back to work !

Thanks Kermit !!

i need to add a note about the behaviour of cadence : (part of kxstudio packages) : each time i start cadence, i have to reinstall pipewire and do the kill/start sequence to get my sound back,
i would like to know where i am wrong with all this ?
