One of the most helpful sites on the internet is linuxquestions.org
After not logging into that site using https://www.linuxquestions.org and after a dozen tries nothing is working to get back into the site.
I have change my password etc.
Noting works. Does anyone have the same issue or know what has changed. Are they out of business?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

@HowardR
If you are using a VPN, try accessing the site without it. A lot of forums are now blocking remote VPN servers because they have become a vehicle for spammers.

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

I second that. I have to turn off my VPN to access several sites.j2mcgreg wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 6:26 am @HowardR

Re: Help Linuxquestions.org
If the letters roark mean anything to you, there are 2 of you at that site.
I or others could pm the admin to ask them to reset your passwd and send an email to your last email address for you to try and login.
Naturally you would prefer to pm someone here you can trust....to confirm your email associated with whatever your LQ member login name is
If VPN is not the answer, my guess is below
Resetting passwords sometimes fails if the system thinks you have made too many attempts and "locks" the account from login

Re: Help Linuxquestions.org
@HowardR I haven't had any issues using a VPN to login in to Linuxquestions.org. Currently I am using Mullvad VPN and I just checked which resulted in no problems login in to Linuxquestions.org. I also haven't had issues login in with my last 2 VPNs I used in the past which were Astril and Private Internet Access. login in to Linuxquestions.org without issues. I recommend trying a different browser to see if that works which I have learned in the past it sometimes worked for issues on some sites which is why I have different browsers. You can also try connecting to a different server with your VPN and also try connecting in different countries because I sometimes find censorship even in countries that claim they don't censor and or say they have freedom of speech. I currently use Firefox which I have made many changes to it in about:config. I hope you don't mind me asking, which browser and VPN do you use?
I am command line illiterate.
I copy & paste to the terminal. Liars, Wiseguys, Trolls, and those without manners will be added to my ignore list.
