@YnysSci
I think that this topic has gotten to the point where you need to provide the QSI report for your machine. The Quick System Info (QSI) utility is located in MX Tools and its output is automatically formatted for use here in the forum. Run the QSI utility, click “Copy for Forum” at the bottom and then just paste it here in your thread.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Since the MX system has no network access, you'll have to save the QSI text to a file, copy it to a USB thumb drive, and then post it to this forum from the Windows machine.

I successfully made the backup/copy of the resolv.conf and the edit you gave. It did confirm I was pointing to 1.1.1.1 with the cat command. However when I tried the "ping -c 4 www.google.com" it responded "ping: www.google.com: Name or service not known". I tried my browsers and still not connecting as well.

Any other suggestions of why my browsers are blocked?
Can you ping 1.1.1.1 ok ?

If not, then run the following in a terminal:
traceroute 1.1.1.1

and show the results please.
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

Thank you everyone for all your detailed help! I am amazed! I appear to have found the problem. I had installed a Mullvad VPN and it wasn't installed correctly, I believe. I downloaded the install from their site which may not have been 100% install ready. A friend of mine came up with the VPN theory and that perhaps the kill option had somehow been inacted. When I looked at the Settings the Kill option was not listed. In fact a number of settings were not listed as they are in the Windows version. This lead me to believe there was something wrong with the app and therefore I needed to uninstall the program. I encountered an error in the uninstall and ultimately had to force removal in terminal mode, then cleaned out all the config supporting files. My browsers now work. I've been using Linux for about 6 months so still in a learning curve. Thank you again.

I'm curious to know when, exactly, you were planning on mentioning that you'd installed a VPN prior to having the problem. You didn't bring it up in your initial request for help.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad you fixed it, but did it not occur to you until your friend mentioned it that installing VPN software on your machine might be relevant to its network functionality?

Yes, I did check the VPN and made sure it wasn't running. However, I didn't know it wasn't running properly and therefore didn't think it could be blocking my access when I had turned it off.
