Thanks everybody.
The oprinter is working when I started a new boot.
However I would like to be informed about installing MX in general.
After finishing the new install ""snap"" did not work.
I was informed to install using ""sysemd"".
After doing this (had no idea what the meant starting ....during a new install, or changing the install when opening the page of the new install, I hit by accident the 2nd installer which was waas systemd.
Now I was able to use the snaps.
Question: Why not putting the installer of systemd on the first placce. Then users like me with a lack of technical Linx-knowledge are not confronted with this problem.
Or is there another reason, if so please explain.
Regards,
Hans Minekus

Re: Using the Brother HL1100 printer./systemd problem
Mind telling us the solution which made the printer work?

You should read section 7.7.1 of our users manual, which can be found here:Question: Why not putting the installer of systemd on the first placce. Then users like me with a lack of technical Linx-knowledge are not confronted with this problem.

HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;
In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Re: Using the Brother HL1100 printer.
At first thanks for helping me.
I deleted the printer and installed the printer again. (by the way , also when I was using Deepin, the printer was a problem).
Anyway, after re-installing the same problem.
However when I re-started the system suddenly the printer was working.
So, at this moment rather happy.
And yes I tried to install when using sysemd also.
I am not good in software, so always trying things until they work and learn from that.
So maybe it was systemd or the re-install and the re-starting up , one of them did the trick.
Thanks again for the help and the tip of reading the manual.

Re: Using the Brother HL1100 printer.
FWIW I've found this to be the key to getting Brother network printers to work reliably. The auto-detection stuff has never been robust for me, and I've learned not to rely on it. I'm aware that it works fine for some people, but I'm not one of them.asqwerth wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2024 10:51 pm 1. I set my printer to have a fixed URI location within my home network;
With fixed IP numbers, I can just disable all the auto-detection bits, and configure my printers manually. This is trivial for 'driverless' printers that support IPP Everywhere and similar technologies, but a bit more fiddly if you need specific drivers, particularly proprietary ones.Thankfully, none of the printers I now use require specific drivers.
