Some video suddenly do not work [Solved]

I don't give up. I have an old PCLOS community-XFCE-version on a partition which I still update from time to time.
With this one there are some video's that work on weerplaza.nl.

They both work here with Slimjet (based on Chromium), haven't tried with others (i.e.):

Check your /etc/hosts file (in case you run the Adblock from menu just once, those web addresses might be in that file, kind of blacklist.)


Edit: The 1st one works also on Falkon and Firefox here.

The problem was the hostfiles (adblock).
When I rename the hostfiles (ex origninal and hostname) to host2 I can see everything on all sites.
An adblocker must work on ads. Not on video.
I can now also see your V (Solved).

Should there maybe be a function, that if you don't want to use the MX included adblocker after all after trying it, or if something like this happens, to reset this to the defaults?

Of course. An off-switch. And off is off. I had now off all blocking but it appeared not to be off in the files. I have removed this antix adblock.
Adblockers in browsers enough.

you can reset defaults with the app.

you can also edit the hosts files to remove sites you don't want blocked. its just a text file.

although in my experience, there is usually a reason the sites are on the block list.

O yes. I think so. But I like the use of internet without too much brakes. And good backups for anything goes wrong. Snapshot is my MX-gem.
With filters, passwords and other 'safety'.... in all sections and directions it is not nice working and it can result in my (nicely solved) problem here.
One switch for blocking the hosts-files for example and all is fine.

You may have missed reading the information on the opening page,
the adblocker does host based blocking, not based on url or contend blocking.
host based blocking blocks all from the blocked server-name (so it will not get an resoled ip-address).

So when an ad is on a site is blocked, it blocks everything running from that ad's ip?

So if the ad is hosted BY the site, then the site goes on block as well.
