MX Into Focus Color Splashscreen and MXWild Image

#1 Post by CharlesV »

I have had a number of people ask me about creation of a colorful version of the MXIntoFocus splashscreen, and I wanted to create something with a little MX background as well.

SO… I started out with the creation of a colorful version of Freja’s excellent MX Logo… then worked backwards into the colors I wanted to use.

I then went searching for a proper image using those colors, but quickly realized that everything I was seeing just didn’t work and I was going to have to create one.

I started with some very basic Mepis images, closing in on the ‘blue moon’ and then started creating. It took me a while to hone on in exactly what I wanted, but I think it turned out really well.

The ‘starting image’ is here ( I called it MXWild )

And the final splash is here:

Please let me know if you like it, and I hope you do.

I like the end result, but I'm 'meh' on the starting image.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

To me it just looks like an orange (fruit) on a nondescript background that doesn't prompt any memories of Mepis or anything else.
