Re: Panel above windows
For some reason I managed to post for a second time a message already posted, and I don't seem to be able to delete that repeat message. So for want of a better solution I replaced its content with the admission that I'm now feeling thoroughly sheepish.

Go to Settings/Workspaces:
In the "Margins" section, you can adjust the maximum height and width of open windows. If you don't want any open windows to cover the bottom panel, all you need to do is note the height of that panel in plxels, and then, in the Settings/Workspaces "Margin" section. In the lower margin (marked by a + sign like the ones for top, left and right), use the + thing to set the number of pixels to match the panel height. That way, any open window will not exceed that setting in height.

Re: Panel above windows
MX Cleanup does maximize, for example via the "maximize" button in the window's top panel. If for any reason that button doesn't change the window's size, you can always manually resize it so it doesn't extend all the way down, or use one of the keyboard shortcuts for resizing windows. You'll find pre-defined shortcuts in Settings/Window Manager/Keyboard. If you don't like them, you can set your own.hasmak wrote: Fri Nov 01, 2024 8:33 am

Re: Panel above windows
Well, some apps, like MX Cleanup, are programed using fixed minimum window size. In this case its not really nice when using a low screen resolution.
The visible part should be possible to be moved by holding ALT+left mouse key.

Thanks, that's good to know - just leaves me with the task of avoiding the need by not double posting contentj2mcgreg wrote: Fri Nov 01, 2024 7:39 am

I figured that out
Personally I don't think this is an elegant design, there are alternative solutions for small screen, It could be resizable with scroll bars, the interface can be redesigned to make it more screen friendly by changing the aspect ratio, make it horizontally wider (16:9) and move things around for better use of screen real estate and fit more things in the wider dimension, but who am I to speak

It seems that you have a good design idea, so I was under the impression that you can give us some layout suggestions in a form that we can review. On the other hand, you didn't post a QSI "Quick System Info" so we would know what the system looks like in relation to the problem you mentioned. Maybe it helps upgrading the package, and let us know whether it helps.hasmak wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:29 amThanksfehlix wrote: Thu Oct 31, 2024 2:48 pm Yes, thanks. I think that having the window resizable with scroll bars can be implemented without messing up the underlying function code
I would love to present a redesigned interface, but I don't have the tools to do that.
If you know of a simple tool to sketch the interface and give me an image, I'll be happy to give it a try
Otherwise I can try to do a sketch on a simple drawing program and send you an image (can not promise when

Let me know what you need, and I'll do my best
Cheers
