If you could upload an ISO of your updated live version without too much trouble, I think it would be appreciated by the OP and others.

I'll give it a try - my USB stick's content is already copied over into a directory on my large data disk. I now need to find out how to create an ext4 image file.

Next thing would be a web space where that image can be uploaded. The original KDE image is already around 5GB, and I think I'll have a little more than that, as I updated and added the 6.11.3 Liquorix kernel.

@Stevo how do you create the ISOs for the MX Linux live systems?

One can create a custom installable ISO using MX snapshot, using the redistribution option. That way it will not have any of your data or settings. But the OP could do it too, since they are already running KDE with the 6.1 kernel, and even with their own settings and selected data.

The Liquorix kernel can easily be added using MXPI / Popular Apps / Kernels on an installed MX.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing

https://github.com/MX-Linux/build-iso-mx

AV Linux is also built with this, incredibly powerful but you need to have your ISO all laid out properly before the build so it takes a lot of trial and error but once you get a working recipe it rocks! I can build a 5.3Gb full AVL ISO from scratch in about 20 minutes...

Thanks! This worked so far. Tested it with Virtualbox, and the Liquorix Kernel has loaded.

The file is on my Google Drive (.iso and .ms5 checksum file):

Nice! MX Snaphot is really one of the killer MX apps--anyone can be a mad distro creator with it.

I am currently re-uploading the ISO image, as I now created a VM with a blank MX installation that has been updated to Liquorix 6.11.4.

That does not mean I would update the image with every Liquorix patch, but it was necessary this time as the first shot had also a lot of packages included I had installed afterward.

However, I think I can update the snapshot with a new major kernel update (next would be 6.12.x).

... and the upload is done.

As mentioned,
  • it is based on the MX KDE ISO,
  • using Kernel 6..11.4 Liquorix instead,
  • and, as last time, I updated the existing packages
in essence, it is a current snapshot of MX KDE with the latest Liquorix 6.11 Kernel.
