Is there a way to get this into the non-live version of MX Linux which typically most of us have? i.e. we have systems which are installed on the drive/disk of our computer and not on a USB stick.
when I want to do this, I use live-usb-maker to target my hard drive and use it live from there.

or do a "frugal" install, which will put the live system in a directory on the disk but will run like the live.

the installed system cannot load into ram. its just not the right sort of filesystem.

if you could load an installed system into ram, you likely wouldn't want to. its the difference between copying 1 large file into ram (a live squashfs file) and 3 million small files. it would take forever.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Yes, please and thank you.

Edit: I see it can't be done. Never mind.

You can have and installed system onto the hd/ssd which is called frugal install.
The frugal installtion is an installation on an internal drive, but based on the Live system, which would allow running the whole
system from RAM by using toram boot options.

Thanks @8bit, @fehlix and @dolphin_oracle.

This cannot be done as of now. And installing a live installation on the disk might have issues with during updates of kernel, or debian base or other packages. Further I just realized that currently about 10-15^ of the RAM is utilized when running KDE and 2 more applications. If I were to push everything to RAM then the amount of free RAM would decrease. I need at least 32 GB for a full fledged MX Linux to run out of RAM only. Though it would be cool to have. I could go to any laptop and just plug in the Flash drive and be ready to work.

Updating the kernel on a frugal install is different. What I do is make a new .iso and get the "antiX" folder from the .iso. The "antiX" folder in the .iso is the frugal install, you can put it on any partition you want and that's how easy it is to install a frugal operating system. It has other pros and cons. One thing that's neat is you can backup the whole OS with the cp command in seconds. I have a hard time forcing MX Linux frugal with xfce to use more than 16G of RAM, it's not exactly one to one with a standard install. It is loaded entirely into RAM but doesn't use as much as you'd think.
