wireplumber status: off

#1 Post by userMX-Linux45 »

Good afternoon, dear Foruchans :)

The problem is this: when connecting the Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 webcam, the microphone stops working at the moment, but not immediately, but after about a day, after a reboot, everything is ok again

Watched by the looked:

Code: Select all

inksy -Aa

Code: Select all

root@mx-linux:/home/Johnny# inxi -Aa
Audio:
  Device-1: AMD SBx00 Azalia vendor: Gigabyte GA-770/78-series

type: plugin 4: pw-jack type: plugin tools: pactl,pw-cat,pw-cli,wpctl

and it turned out that he stopped working as a wireplumber

Can you tell me how to restart Wireplumber without rebooting the PC?

Welcome in!

Please post your QSI. ( MX Menu, Quick System Info, Copy for Forum, Paste here )

You should upgrade your version of pipewire to the latest in the Enabled Repos ( MX Package Installer - search for pipewire and change to enabled repos tab.)

And if you install
pipewire-setup-mx

you will find a pipewire-restart command.. not sure if that restart wireplumber or not.. but worth a try.

Sorry, I had a script setup called that!!

In the terminal. do

Code: Select all

pipewire-start

My script kills pipewire and then restarts it .

And your QSI shows the pipewire 1.0.0 still. you should try to update that.

That looks to me like there is an issue with your pipewire installation.

Have you installed the latest version?

You may consider to reduce usage of root-terminal.
If someone suggest to start a program it's meant to start as normal user not as root,
if not otherwise stated.

There is a newer version in the MX 23 test repo.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing
