Raspberry Pi and Orange Pi 5 users - what do you use your MX Linux respin for?

Minicomputers are typically used as home servers, but MX Linux is rather designated for desktops, so I'm curious of your use cases.

Do you use it as a server, but prefer a distro that you already are familiar with?
Or maybe is it mature enough, and you use it as your desktop (or as a computer for your young children)?

The more unique use cases, the more interesting

I use both as everyday desktop computers and also for OS (MXRP, MXOPi) development. Have them in the Living Room, where small (so: almost unseen) is better for *some* people in the house.

I have purchased an orange pi 5 plus(but haven’t had the opportunity to configure it yet).
I have run MXLinux-Minimal using my (old intel) 2013 MacBook, using an external SSD drive (as the SSD died in it & is not feasible to replace the dead drive). I then flash a usb version of the Monthly MXLinux update on to my thumb-drive and boot that from ram for security reasons. I really love how Mullvad VPN is available in the software centre, to easily install onto MX-Linux.
I am hoping I can replicate the same with my new OrangePi5Plus system.
One thing I really love about the x86 XFCE version is that it defaults to Sys-V boot. I am hoping that the same can be done with the OPi5 soon, as I see it only currently runs with the dreaded SystemD activated and don’t think it should be managing my network…KISS approach is better
I use MXLinus for all my personal desktop computing, and for less privacy use my lockdown iPad (for productivity due to convenience).
I believe that MXLinux with Mullvad VPN and Mullvad flatpak browser is many times more private than Apple ecosystem will ever be, as I was badly hacked on a Mac in 2016, and was locked out of my iCloud account for 3 months, so now I try to only use wired Ethernet I also feel way more secure using FOSS system, knowing that many eyes are looking at the code

well so far all Ive used it for is to try to get pass the password. Ive tried demo but thats not it, tried logging in as root wit root but thats not it.
Looked for help but haven't found any so far..

It must be mentioned somewhere but after an hour or so I have to give up.

I find it surprising that the img file is 9GB when decompressed.

anyway..can someone point me in the right direction..before I give up.
Not sure why the password is so hidden...or is it right under my nose ?

yay - figure wot went wrong:
Took too long reading all the info while setting up the initial install and the was locked out without a password being set.
..just had to reboot..and wiz thru the setup process before being locked out ..Hurrah !!

Raspberry Pi consumes 4-5 W energy in the idle mode. It maybe a good idea to keep it running all day, like a mobile phone (but more comfortable). I personally don't like dealing with mobile interfaces when there is a possibility to use normal desktop (especially the best one with XFCE and left panel! ) .
