#1 Post by rhinomick »

Recently i was given a laptop , lenovo ideapad 320 and installed antiX 23.1 on it. I also run it from an Mx 23.3 live usb.

The problem is that the system (antiX, Mx and other distros i tried) does not recognize internal mic...
But audacity does with the setup on the photo!

Searching for solution found this topic :

https://gist.github.com/Therises/d2e91c ... d520fdc7ec

But it has to do with an older ubuntu installation using pule audio...
In /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/analog-input-internal-mic.conf and /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/analog-input-mic.conf:

Under [Element Internal Mic Boost] set volume to zero.
Under [Element Int Mic Boost] set volume to zero.
Under [Element Mic Boost] set volume to zero
Made the above changes by going to /usr/share/alsa-card-profile/mixer/paths/analog-input-internal-mic.conf and /usr/share/alsa-card-profile/mixer/paths/analog-input-mic.conf and they look like that

But then when i run

i get

Code: Select all

$ pacmd list-sources | grep 'name:.*input'
bash: pacmd: εντολή δεν βρέθηκε
means command not found (propably related to pulseaudio)...

/etc/pulse/default.pa also default.pa does not exist(propably pulseaudio also)...

So does anybody know if and how i can make the mic work under pipewire?
I think it will work on MX, antiX etc....

Re: microphone issue on laptop Lenovo ideapad320!

#2 Post by CharlesV »

I would suggest two things:

first, upgrade your pipewire to the 1.2.2 version in the Enabled repos

If the mic still doesnt work, then I would suggest heading for a 6.9.x liquorix kernel. The 6.9 kernel did a lot for sound work.
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

Thanks CharlesV for the reply...
Made a snapshot of MX with the latest pipewire from the test repo and the latest liquorix kernel from the mxpi...
Now guvcview and vokoscreen work. But calls throught the browser or viber dont...
the microphone is not recognized systemwide....

Progress. You might have a look at these, just dont add any PPA's if they suggest it! Almost all of these are tweaking the configurations - most are a little different but achieve results.

Edit: And need I say ... backup ANY file before you change it :-)

No microphone input on Acer Aspire One and Lenovo Ideapad 310-15ISK/330-15ARR
Install pavucontrol, unlink the microphone channels and turn down the left one to 0.

Some applications (e.g. chromium) can change microphone levels causing the same issue, a workaround is to remap stereo input to mono and use the remapped device as default.
Unlonking the mic channels and turning left to 0 does the job!!! Thank you very much!!!
I ll mark that as solved!!!
