MX-23 Repository: The AzPainter thread
Re: Request MX-23: AzPainter
Arnox: Could you please elaborate or provide a link concerning the LazPaint problem you referred to? I just discovered the app and am not sure what I should be watching for as I use it. I haven't discovered anything serious, yet, but would like to avoid any surprises. Thanks.
Re: Request MX-23: AzPainter
Check the mx23 alpha thread. It was the default drawing program at that time.TTwrs wrote: Wed Jul 05, 2023 10:27 pm Arnox: Could you please elaborate or provide a link concerning the LazPaint problem you referred to? Re: Request MX-23: AzPainter
Program will insta-crash when trying to change canvas size. I think it only happens with the Qt version of it, but I can't remember exactly, and there might be more bugs as well.TTwrs wrote: Wed Jul 05, 2023 10:27 pm Arnox: Could you please elaborate or provide a link concerning the LazPaint problem you referred to? MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing

Re: MX-23 Repository: The AzPainter thread
Regarding AZPainter:
1. it gets no description in the Whisker Menu.
2. I found AZPaint's UI so pointlessly idiosyncratic (vs LazPaint or even GIMP) that I uninstalled it (beyond what I would consider matters of taste, but at least not CSD).
Regarding LazPaint (OT but it was mentioned):
1. its description in the Menu is just "LazPaint" which doesn't really help: I mean, if it said "Microsoft Office" that would be meaningful, and surprising, and if it said "Unstable pixel graphics editor" that would be helpful, and possibly accurate)
2. at least one issue with LazPaint is a recoverable EAccesViolation crash when opening the program from the Whisker Menu, completely repeatable with MX23.2 x86 and fixed by clearing the "Run in terminal" flag for the menu item; there's no crash when starting the program from the shell command line, but it suggests that saving your work frequently would be good practice when using the program.
