Hi,

Network manager has suddenly disappeared from the panel, although in Session and Startup, Network (Mange your network connections) is checked.
How can I get the Network manager back?

TIA

Code: Select all

Active apt repos in: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/oguzhaninan-ubuntu-stacer-kinetic.list

           3: deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/oguzhaninan/stacer/ubuntu kinetic main
You need to read this:
viewtopic.php?t=44747

And after you have read it, my advice is to reinstall.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Thank you for your reply. I had already read the thread you referred to, as I have been notified about it already September last year. My system however was still working without any issues.

I am interested to find out if, in the event that those lines are not the cause of my issue, is there a possible solution available? Or if it is certain that my problem is connected to the lines of code you mentioned in your reply?

Except that a significant component of your desktop gui has now disappeared seemingly on its own. Keep in mind that a package imported by a ppa will sometimes work fine, but the dependencies also imported, will, like land mines in school yard, eventually cause havoc.

Does the icon show back up in the toolbar?
This is my Fluxbox . There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Fluxbox is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Fluxbox is useless. Without my Fluxbox, I am useless.

So it’s running. Just hidden from the system tray.

Check the system tray settings, and see if you just accidentally hid the thing

I clicked on the panel, chose "Items" tab, and added Wavelan from the list of items.

Wavelan icon is now added to the panel, but it doesn't work as it used to. It shows the Wi-Fi networks available, but I cannot choose which network to connect to (the icon is also larger than it used to be). Previously I could connect-disconnect by right-clicking on the respective network.

The only way to connect to a specific Wi-Fi is to double click on the ones you do not want to connect to, choose the tab "General" and uncheck "Connect automatically with priority"
