[SOLVED] Blank/Black screen after shutdown
I use mx 23.3 64 bit XFCE.
I use a fresh install of mx linux.
This error occurs every time I shutdown my pc, doesn’t matter whether in lightdm or xfce.
This is a black screen no errors are displayed I can only reboot once power button is held down for 10s.

Re: Blank/Black screen after shutdown
- Is it the same if you boot with the default (non-systemd) init ?
- What if you shutdown with this? (No matter SysV or systemd)
Code: Select all
sudo init 0
- What if you install the most recent Liquorix kernel from "MX Package Installer" (just 2 clicks from the initial tab) and try ?
Re: Blank/Black screen after shutdown
I tried did not work. I tried liquorix from their website, made my kernel panick I reinstalled everything including /boot partition.
(Live update trying liquorix from package installer right now.)

Re: Blank/Black screen after shutdown
Thank you all lots! liquorix has lead to succes. I am sorry that I didn't previously try it through MX package installer. Live long and prosper.
Re: Blank/Black screen after shutdown [Solved]

In the meantime, in such cases (kernel panic / any other boot problems with the new kernel) all you need to do is boot with the old kernel(s) via "Advanced Options" on Grub. (Then you can remove the problematic one(s) simply with 2 clicks with "MX Cleanup".) (i.e. you can see the 6.1 now in Advanced Options)
