MX23 Test Repo Pipewire Feedback

#1 Post by Zeke »

Thank you MX Devs! Would like to report that I upgraded Pipewire from MX23 Test Repo and everything works perfectly ... I also added a couple more items as you can see from the screenshot ... users need simply to open MX23 Test Repo and type Pipewire in the Search, then check off all that you see in my image, install/upgrade, then reboot. BTW folks that need/use Qjackctl for audio routing would be pleased to know that everything works! Just a silly question ... Is it necessary to install the transitional packages?

Ditto on my experience as well. (Although I only use 'standard' sound and webcam hardware - But both laptops and a tester Lenovo all good here.)
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

It works quite well. Although at some point, I don't know if it was due to upgrading from 1.0.4 to 1.0.6 or something else completely; when I close the window of OBS(the version from stable) it hangs for a few seconds and sometimes pops a window asking if I want to kill the app. But even more recently what bothers me more is when I upgraded wireplumber from 0.4.17 to 0.5.2-3 when I connect my bluetooth speaker and then switch sound output manually from my card to the speaker it has trouble doing so for about 10 seconds or so; switching back to the sound card doesn't happen unless I disconnect the speaker and it's the only device left. In more detail I've made a post here : viewtopic.php?t=80591. I had no such issue before, it was instantaneous.

Edit: (oh something extra I noticed, pipewire-setup-mx versions seem to swapped in stable and test. It's 23.12.04 in stable and 23.12.02 in test, can that be right? o.O)
