repo removal

#1 Post by Qiset »

I tried to add mysql to my computer and found out that it has been superseded by mariadb. All good.
However, in the attempt a repo for mysql was added that gives an error when I run updates.
Here's what I get when I run "apt update":
Err:7 http://repo.mysql.com/apt/debian bullseye InRelease
The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY B7B3B788A8D3785C
Reading package lists... Done
W: GPG error: http://repo.mysql.com/apt/debian bullseye InRelease: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY B7B3B788A8D3785C
I'd like to remove this repo. I tried using the MX Repo tool but un selecting the entries didn't make a difference.
I tried this command: "apt -remove http://repo.mysql.com/apt/debian" but it didn't work
So, how can I remove this repo?

Have you tried the Fix GPG Keys tool?

Code: Select all

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mysql.list
or at least rename:

Code: Select all

sudo mv /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mysql.list{,.old}

Alternatively, if the command line gives you the willies, use Repo Manager (Individual Sources tab) to remove it.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Thank you. removing the file did the trick. I'm kinda surprised that it uses files for that purpose.
Anyway, much appreciated.
