Logitech G435 Bluetooth headset

#1 Post by ph3arr3t »

I am having issues re-connecting Logitech G435 Bluetooth headset since reloading MX-23 KDE after MX-21 XFCE. Interestingly the headset did work in XFCE, but I had issues with Menu Editor so am trying KDE for a spell. If I connect the dongle the device is detected correctly, but unable to connect. I have checked repository and currently have the drivers for bluetooth installed and working as system does recognize my XRocker, sees mac address correctly using hci0 adaptor

only displays this when dongle is attached, in MX21 I was able to connect without the dongle

Asides from why isn't it connecting I guess the question is, are the old and new versions that different ? I don't think it would be.

Did you find a fix for this? Possibly trusting the device may resolve the connect issue?

That's part of the problem, it's not displayed in MX-23 blueman whereas it was displayed in MX-21 blueman.
I have tried to connect to headset directly as before in MX-21, or through the USB dongle.
device isn't being displayed in blueman.
it is listed in lshw as USB device
I have also thought that maybe because it was paired to the old MX I would have to reset the headset, ( logitec website suggested that one) couldn't find "the button" to reset
I have made laptop "permanently" visible to bluetooth to broadcast, still unable to connect.
Today however there was a few bluetooth updates, and now applied. I will have to try that and hope the issue is resolved.

And still not detecting headset, not seeing the mac address to connect to.
And why does it seem like everytime there's a kernel update you have to reinstall and reconfigure everything like it's a fresh install? there should be a way to read the system settings of the old kernel, apply them to the new kernel and then reboot.. but that's a different issue. pardon the rant.

What kernel did you have in place when you were using XFCE?
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.
