[Solved] Virtualbox Problems - Live user only

#1 Post by Griffy »

I've searched around and thought I'd try here. I can install a distro in Virtualbox, create a user during the installation process, it will not let me login using that user. It always defaults to the live user. What am I missing?

You need to eject the ISO, you are probably still booting to it.

Even after installing, it won't boot without it.

Well, it seems like virtualbox didn't like how I was removing the CD rom drive. Now thanks to that comment, I tried it a different way and it worked. I had previously just unchecked the floppy and cd rom and it wouldn't boot without those. Now it does. Thanks!

There was a check box to remove the floppy disk and cd rom and I checked them both, but this didn't work. I then disabled the cd rom itself on the dialogue that had both controllers listed. This was done on a fresh install with Mabox and Archcraft images if that matters.
