speaker Bluetooth not working

#1 Post by damians »

Hello I reinstalled MX Linux Xfce on my PC, but now when I connect the PC to the Bluetooth speaker, no sound comes out.
The connection via bluetooth is made but no sound comes out of the speaker.

Did you go through the usual steps?
  • Confirm that an external speaker is on and enabled
  • Left-click the speaker icon in the systray and use the pull-down menu to change from default “Built-in Audio etc.” to the external speaker.
  • Test by playing a streaming site, an installed music app such as audacious or another source
  • Adjust volume by scrolling up or down while holding the cursor over the speaker icon
  • If problems arise, left-click the speaker icon again and click “Audio mixer.” Start a music source, and click on the mixer’s “Output Devices” or “Playback” tab to change settings.

Please give us your solution. The details will help others who are in a similar fix.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Of course, essentially after connecting to the Bluetooth speaker you have to right-click in the Systray volume icon at the bottom right and in the menu choose the external speaker.

Locked
