Help for Current Versions of MX
When asking for help, use Quick System Info from MX Tools. It will be properly formatted using the following steps.
1. Click on Quick System Info in MX Tools
2. Right click in your post and paste.

how do I mount a bloody ISO? This should be as easy as right-clicking the ISO and selecting "mount" from a dropdown menu

You can open ISOs in any archive program and extract their contents. No need to mount it. Unless... You need it mounted?

Which you can easily setup.

the command isomount
is the simplest method.

Or a thunar custom action here

What is the problem?
Mark the iso with the file manager of your choice and then go to "open with" and there you will be offered, among other things, to read images. At least with thunar and pcmanfm this works without any problems, just tried it :)

Virtual Box will mount it, and more.
A live USB is a more common scenario that MX Live USB Maker manages well.
It's all about what you want to do with that iso?

Yes, I need it mounted. Why the hell would I want to extract anything? What good would that do?

You realize that only works when trying to create LINUX Live USB sticks, right? And it has nothing to do with literally any other kind of disk that someone might have made an ISO of?
