You can open ISOs in any archive program and extract their contents. No need to mount it. Unless... You need it mounted?

Which you can easily setup.
the command isomount

What is the problem?
Mark the iso with the file manager of your choice and then go to "open with" and there you will be offered, among other things, to read images. At least with thunar and pcmanfm this works without any problems, just tried it :)

Virtual Box will mount it, and more.
A live USB is a more common scenario that MX Live USB Maker manages well.
It's all about what you want to do with that iso?

We haven't heard from the OP yet, so I suggest we wait. Nothing is going on here just yet that gives reason TO close it.

AcetoneISO
Makes it possible to easily use various kinds of CD and
DVD images on your computer as if they were burned to real CDs.
You can use the application to mount and manage CD and DVD images.
Supported disc-image formats are ISO, BIN, NRG, MDF and IMG.
Isomaster
Graphical CD image editor
You can use isomaster to:
- add files to an image
- extract files from an image
- delete files from an image

Yes, I need it mounted. Why the hell would I want to extract anything? What good would that do?Arnox wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2024 2:50 pmYou can open ISOs in any archive program and extract their contents. No need to mount it. Unless... You need it mounted?
lolwut?
Great suggestion for virtual machines. Not so much for bare metal.
You realize that only works when trying to create LINUX Live USB sticks, right? And it has nothing to do with literally any other kind of disk that someone might have made an ISO of?tascoast wrote: Tue Apr 16, 2024 3:50 amA live USB is a more common scenario that MX Live USB Maker manages well.
Mount it, obviously.
Thanks, will read.
