Description: Geographic Information System (GIS)
A Geographic Information System (GIS) manages, analyzes, and displays
databases of geographic information. QGIS supports shape file viewing and
editing, spatial data storage with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, projection on-the-fly,
map composition, and a number of other features via a plugin interface. QGIS
also supports display of various georeferenced raster and Digital Elevation
Model (DEM) formats including GeoTIFF, Arc/Info ASCII Grid, and USGS ASCII
DEM.

MX 21 Repository: The QGIS thread
We now have QGIS 3.22.15 in our MX 21 test repository for i386 and amd64 platforms. It will also pull in a newer version of GRASS 8.1 from the test repo, since it requires it.
Re: MX 21 Repository: The QGIS thread
It's very much appreciated that you made QGIS available. However, v 3.27 lacks enhancements, new features and fixes that later version supply and is not included on the QGIS Road Map. When attempting to install a later version using apt this error message "your system does not support the latest version," was given. I'd really like to be able to install a later version in MX.
To rectify this, I repaired a spare laptop like this one but slightly newer AMD and tried to upgrade to MX23 as a dual boot. Suffice to say, when QGIS 3.27 was all that was available in the MX repository, my old MX21Live USB went in, installed as a dual boot and both systems finally run without a hitch. I've owned, built, networked and run computers since DOS 2.0 and MX21 (and MX19) have been the most reliable OS I've ever used.
QGIS contends their latest PR version 3.36 and LTR version 3.34 are fully compatible with Debian and Ubuntu. QGIS refers other OS users to consult their specific distro for installation instructions. Does MXLinux maintain such instructions (for MX21) and if so, could you provide a link?

Re: MX 21 Repository: The QGIS thread
I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack. These instructions: https://www.qgis.org/fr/_sources/site/f ... ds.rst.txt
are about as clear as mud.
My confusion I guess comes from the detailed instructions for other distros like openSuse, BSD or Fedora, Debian and Ubuntu but I don't identify any for a Debian flavor like MXLinux.
MX2 w/ Debian Bookworm was incompatible with my system. MX21 running Debian 11 Bullseye works great and QGIS claims v.3.34 and 3.36 will run under Bullseye. Backdoor option according to Debian is like a last resort since the packages are not maintained. There's reportedly compatibility issues between older and newer versions of QGIS and many report issues with 3.28. I installed 3.36 on a Windows10 computer that runs fine as long as I have a magnifying glass and two pair of eyeglasses on. The screen is small, increasing text disappears the bottom of non-resizable pop-up panels & using whacko windows increase all items by a percent frigs up QGIS map displays. I'd prefer to run QGIS on my 17" screen within MX. I hate to have to ditch MX on that computer for Ubuntu or Debian just to have a recent version of QGIS but it's looking more and more like that is my only alternative.

Thanks for your help. That's what I was looking for! I'll give Flatpak a whirl.
Until trying to figure out how you were able to display the version column, I hadn't seen the horizontal scroll bar.

(Only a partial excuse for my stupid but my vision isn't so great & blue filter eyeglasses further diminish screen contrast... time to find a high contrast theme.)
