I've used a Pi 4 with both SD cards and SSDs. The biggest benefit of SSDs IMO is consistent performance across makes. USB 3 is the bottleneck of the Pi, and even older or cheap SSDs are faster than that.skallal wrote: Fri Jan 19, 2024 3:49 pm I got my Pi 4 w/ 4 GB RAM performance increased with a left over Samsung sata 250 GB SSD. So far the SSD is holding out as it's at least 10 years old and I'll need to keep an eye on it for failures. It's probably not as fast as newer ones. NVMe is only an option for the Pi 5 AFAIK.
Curious if the other users and testers were using sd cards or SSDs? My Pi is at the low end of the supported hardware spectrum.
